- Daikin-R/M Co., Ltd. founded as a joint company between Raybestos-Manhattan Inc.(in USA) and Daikin Manufacturing. Co., Ltd.(Exedy Corporation)
- 1974
- Set up Chitose plant
- 1977
- Provided the Friction discs for automatic transmissions

- 1983
- Released the first originally-developed wet friction material in Japan
